Shopping for Summer Beach Day Essentials

Shopping for Summer Beach Day Essentials

Getting prepared for the summer is always exciting and fun. Once you put your winter and fall clothes it’s time to get stuck up with new season summer clothes, swimsuits, purses, backpacks etc. So I’m going to list some summer essentials everyone should have and how you can work them into your current closet and personal style.

Whether you’re a beach girl that loves to spend all day at the beach or you like to be active by going surfing or playing beach volleyball or you just prefer to lounge in the sun and soak up the sun and wind, these items are essential for you to have.

Swimsuits

Swimsuits are a summer essential if you want to spend some time at the beach or the pool. It’s a good idea to have at least two or three favorite swimsuits so you can go to the beach two days in a row and not have to worry about it. When buying swimsuits go for comfort first before style. Look for swimsuits that you’re most comfortable in and get bright colors to show your playful side. Summer is a time to get out of your comfort zone so if you are used to two piece swimsuits you can try out some fun one-piece bikinis and the other way around. Let your confidence shine through as your heart to the pool this summer and don’t forget to smile.

Beach Bag

A beach bag is a summer essential that is both fashionable and very useful. Having this comes in handy more ways that you can think of. When you’re heading to the beach or pool always take your beach bag to carry essentials like sunscreen, a change of clothes, towels, and a lot more summer paraphernalia. There are lots of options of great and beautiful beach bags you can get.

Swimsuit Cover-ups

Swimsuit coverups are one of those items you don’t particularly put a lot of thought into but that shouldn’t be the case. Cover-ups are a way to elevate your beach look and even protect you from the sun. There are lots of options for cover-ups you can get, lace cover-ups, see-throughs, t-shirt styles and even those that could pass as a dress. You should think about buying this essential when you buy your swimsuits. It ok to have one or two cover ups that can go well with all your swimsuits and fit for any occasion.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses can be used all year round but they come in very handy in the summer. When shopping for sunglasses be sure to get the ones that have ultra violet (UV) protection from the sun. Sunglass can take any look up a notch and that includes your beach look. They are great for lounging and even necessary for driving when it’s very sunny. You can get cheap ones or you can invest in a good pair of sunglasses if you so desire. Either way, you are going to look fabulous.

Sunscreen

Speaking of UVA rays and the sun, it is very important to put on sunscreen all year round but even more important in the summer. Especially if you plan to spend a lot of time in the sun you have to plan for sunscreen. Sunscreen is vital in helping prevent cancer as it protects you from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. Overexposure to the sun can cause sunburn, skin cancer, wrinkling of the skin and a ton of other conditions that can be prevented by putting on sunscreen. For best results, you should apply sunscreen approximately 30 minutes before you go out in the sun so it can be absorbed by your skin and hence less susceptible to being washed off by your sweat. Always reapply sunscreen after you go swimming or take a dip in the pool or after exercising. Wear hats and protective clothing (like cover-ups) if you’re going to be in the sun for long.

Beach Outfit

So you have your swimsuits, cover-ups and your beach bag but how do you put it all together? When it comes to putting together a cute beach outfit, there are endless options. One way to start is by narrowing your outfit down to the specific occasion i.e why are you going to the beach and who are you going with? Are you going alone, with friends, for a party, with a date? etc. What you wear to the beach with your friends on the weekend will be entirely different from what you wear to the beach for a business event. Appropriate attire will not only help you look stylish, but it’s also respectful to the person putting on the event. After this, it’s time to decide what style you want to go for. Do you want to look, modern, classy, vintage, chic, boho or urban? This is an opportunity to let your personality shine through because your clothes and outfits say a lot about who you are and how you present yourself. Whatever you choose, make sure you are getting the right message across and this is very important for beach outfits as they could be very tricky. Another component in putting together your perfect beach outfit is the actual items themselves and making sure they match the style you’re going for. If you’re going to the beach for a dinner date, you most likely want to look stylish but still keep the beach vibe in your look. For example, you can wear a thin fabric maxi dress with wedges and a nice looking beach bag. Keep the beach vibe by wearing a bright color, fun print, and summer accessories.
